TECH TASK DEVELOPMENT

I originally started with the metaphor: "Life is a journey." so I started thinking about how the user could plot their day and see the ups and downs of their week or year.
I then transitioned to focusing on their day and the different tasks involved in that which led me to the idea of a daily planner.

Using a daily planner everyday and checking tasks off is a common action and I wanted to make it more visual so the user could visually see how much time they have and engage through a fun interaction.

Then came the egg basket idea, I thought the metaphor: "Too many eggs in one basket," fit perfectly with the idea that having too many tasks at once was similar to having eggs spilling over the basket.

My concept was a bowl that the user places egg shaped weights into which represent time. The more they place into the bowl, the less time they have left in their day and lights help represent feedback at where the weight level is at.

The sequence of use allows feedback of status at points along the way and provides attention when there is too much weight and the user will be too busy.
